The short version: any price estimate from this website — including the “What’s My Book Worth?” tool — is informational only. It is not an offer and not a promise to buy any book at any price. We buy books only in person, by mutual agreement, after we’ve seen them, and we may decline any item for any reason. By using this site you agree to the terms below.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SellBooksABQ website at sellbooksabq.com (the “Site”) and the services we offer through it. By accessing or using the Site — including the book-value estimate tool — or by contacting us to sell or donate books, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Who we are
SellBooksABQ is a locally owned used-book buyer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We buy select books for cash and offer free pickup for estates and large collections. Books we don’t purchase can be donated through our sister organization, the New Mexico Literacy Project, or responsibly recycled. You can reach us at 702-496-4214 or [email protected].
3. What we provide
The Site provides information about our services and a free, optional tool that produces an estimated value for used books based on their ISBN and current used-book market data. The tool is provided as a convenience to help you decide whether it’s worth contacting us. It does not create any contract, account, or transaction.
4. Estimates are not offers
Any number the Site shows you is an estimate only. It is not an offer, quote, bid, or promise to purchase any book at any price, it does not obligate SellBooksABQ to buy anything, and we may decline to buy any book for any reason.
- Estimates are generated automatically from third-party market data and built-in assumptions (for example, that a book is in “Good” used condition). They can be inaccurate, out of date, or wrong for your specific copy.
- Actual condition, edition, printing, completeness, markings, and authenticity materially affect value and can only be assessed in person.
- Any actual purchase is made only in person and only by mutual agreement after we have inspected the books. The price agreed at that time governs, and it may be higher or lower than any estimate — or zero.
- We may decline to purchase any book or collection, in whole or in part, for any reason or no reason, with no obligation to explain.
- No statement on the Site, by email, by text, or by phone constitutes a binding offer unless and until we and you agree to a specific price in person and complete the transaction.
5. Selling books to us
If we do agree to buy books from you:
- The final purchase price is determined in person after we inspect the books. If books are in materially different condition than described or scanned, we may revise our price or decline the purchase.
- By selling books to us, you represent that you own them (or are authorized to sell them) and have the legal right to transfer them, and that they are not stolen, encumbered, or otherwise restricted.
- We typically pay cash on the spot for the items we choose to buy. Payment is only for items we actually purchase by agreement.
- Once a sale is completed, it is final, and ownership of the purchased books transfers to SellBooksABQ.
- We are not responsible for items you choose to leave with us that we did not purchase, except as described in “Donation & disposal” below.
6. Donation & disposal
Books we don’t buy can be donated through the New Mexico Literacy Project or recycled, at your option. If you ask us to take books we are not purchasing, you authorize us to donate, recycle, resell, or otherwise handle them at our discretion, and you give up any claim to them or to proceeds from them. Donations may or may not be tax-deductible; we do not provide tax advice.
7. Market data
Estimates rely on data from third-party sources about the used-book market. That data is provided to us “as is,” may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, and is used only to calculate our own internal estimate. We do not guarantee its accuracy and are not responsible for third-party data or services. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon, any data provider, or any other book-buyback service. If the estimate tool is unavailable or delayed, we’re glad to value your books by hand — just contact us.
8. Acceptable use
The estimate tool is for personal, non-commercial use to evaluate your own books. You agree not to: use automated systems to access the tool at scale; scrape, harvest, resell, or redistribute the Site’s output or underlying data; attempt to disrupt or overload the Site; or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may limit, suspend, or discontinue the tool at any time.
9. Your information
If you submit your name, contact details, or a list of books through the Site, we use that information solely to respond to you about buying or donating your books. We do not sell your personal information. Form submissions are delivered to us by email through a third-party form provider; please don’t submit sensitive personal information. The Site does not require an account.
10. Intellectual property
The Site’s content, design, text, and logos are owned by SellBooksABQ or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission, except as needed to use the Site normally.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and the estimate tool are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate is accurate or reliable.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SellBooksABQ and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on any estimate or other information on the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or the estimate tool will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page, and the “Effective date” above will be updated. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
