Nob Hill book buyer

Sell your books in Nob Hill. We'll come to you.

Historic Route 66 bungalows, UNM faculty homes, grad student apartments — Nob Hill is full of serious readers and inherited libraries. We pick up estates in this walkable neighborhood just 5 minutes from our warehouse. Cash on the spot for anything worth buying. Children's books go to New Mexico Literacy Project and out to kids across NM. The rest — overprinted adult fiction, damaged material — I haul to the paper recycler myself, gaylord in the van, several times a week.

Why Nob Hill

Readers, professors, and inherited libraries.

Nob Hill is Albuquerque's most bookish neighborhood. Historic bungalows where UNM faculty live. Graduate student apartments packed with academic texts and literary fiction. Longtime residents who've collected for decades. The neighborhood straddles Route 66 — it draws people who care about history, craft, and ideas. Those translate into serious home libraries.

We're just 5 minutes away by car. We know Nob Hill well and we're there regularly picking up everything from bulk academic collections to rare first editions.

From Nob Hill

Why people call us.

"Retiring and clearing house"

UNM professor's bungalow, 35 years of collecting.

Retired English professor downsizing before moving to Portland. The bungalow had floor-to-ceiling shelves: first editions, signed copies, literary journals, academic texts. Rather than donate to Goodwill, the family called. We picked up in one morning, paid cash for valuable portions, kept the kids' books for NMLP, and hauled the overprints to the recycler ourselves.

The honest version

Where books we don't buy go.

Most donated books end up in dumpsters within a week. We take a different approach. Children's books we can't resell go to New Mexico Literacy Project — the literacy side of what we do from the same Edith Blvd shop — and then out to kids, schools, and early-literacy programs across New Mexico. Overprinted adult fiction and anything too damaged to read, Josh hauls to a paper recycler himself in a gaylord, several times a week. Nothing from the shop hits a landfill.

It's not a registered non-profit or a charity — just what we do with books that don't have resale value.

Common questions

Before you call.

Do you really come to Nob Hill addresses?

Yes. Nob Hill is about 5 minutes from our North Valley warehouse. We're there regularly. Free pickup for collections of 300+ books.

I have a lot of academic textbooks. Are those worth buying?

Often. Recent hardcovers in good condition have resale value. We buy textbooks alongside literary fiction and art books. Text us photos for a quick estimate.

What's the smallest collection you'll pick up?

We prefer 300+ books for free pickup. Smaller lots can drop off at our warehouse, or call if it's rare material — we work it out.

I have first editions and signed copies. Can you help?

That's our strength. We know first editions, signed copies, literary classics, academic rare books. Call us before you donate or sell elsewhere.
