Honest first look: 99 of every 100 home libraries aren't worth driving out for. I buy rarely — specific rare titles, or whole-collection cleanouts where the price works for both sides. Default for everything else: free NMLP pickup, any condition, statewide. Same number, same person. Start with a text of a few photos — honest yes or no in minutes.
Religious book specialist

Religious book buyer in Albuquerque — old bibles, theology, pastor libraries.

Most family bibles are not valuable, though they hold sentimental worth. Theology collections, scholarly bibles, and pastor-library estates are our specialty. We handle with respect.

Three personalized family Bibles — a large leather Holy Bible stamped 'A. E. Cash', a white prayer book engraved 'Janellen Cook', and a black Catholic prayer book engraved 'Gerald Lee Cash' — shown alongside vintage religious prayer cards. The kind of family archive we handle for estate clients.
Values

Are old bibles valuable?

Usually no. With important exceptions: pre-1800 bibles, association copies, fine bindings. Most family bibles are reprints. We tell you straight.

I buy the books from these thrift stores every week. Might as well pay the customer instead.

Tell us about the religious books.

Send photos and details. We'll respond within the hour during business hours. Religious books we don't buy without resale value are sorted: kids' books go to the New Mexico Literacy Project (the literacy side of what we do, not a registered non-profit or charity); adult books too common or damaged to resell, I haul to the paper recycler myself.

Common questions

Religious books.

Is my grandmother's old family bible worth anything?

Usually not. Most are reprints without market value. Fine bindings, pre-1800 bibles, or documented association copies occasionally have value. Age alone doesn't help.

What about theology books and pastor libraries?

Yes. Theology collections, biblical commentaries, and scholarly religious texts often have collector appeal. We handle pastor libraries respectfully.

Do you buy religious history books?

Yes. Religious history, denominational records, and scholarly Christian/Jewish/Islamic works are collected. Depends on author, publisher, and edition.

What if the bible or religious book is damaged?

Condition affects value. Water damage, loose binding, and foxing reduce price. Only genuinely valuable religious books justify restoration costs.
